Canada is not immune to the polarization sweeping democracies worldwide. The Public Policy Forum’s Far and Widening report made that case in 2023 — and the two people most responsible for it are in this room. Justin Ling wrote it. Victoria Kuketz, now an Obama Foundation Scholar at Columbia University, engaged 1,600 young Canadians across 321 cities to inform it. Together they diagnosed a country pulling apart.
