We measure our impact.
Is it working?
We want to know.
Conversation is only worthwhile if it leads somewhere. So we ask independent researchers to measure what changes: in how people think, in who they work with, and in what they do next.
What we learn shapes the next Gathering, and everything else we do.
Independent research tracks how people's thinking shifts across everything we do.
Mary Beth Barbour of GDTI Advisory, who spent years as a senior vice-president at Ipsos, surveys participants before, during and after our work. A research partnership led by Dr. Ola Tjornbo of the University of New Brunswick, with researchers from across Canada and the Stockholm Resilience Centre, will spend two years defining, with Atlantic Canadians, the long-term outcomes that truly matter. It will then test whether the change brave conversation sparks is real, lasting and spreading.
Early signs that brave conversation turns understanding into commitment.
In June 2026, 130 people joined our first Gathering. They arrived ready to act but unsure how progress could be made. Over three days, the share who saw a clear way forward rose from 24% to 64%. Within weeks, a quarter of those who met someone new had committed to working together.
Participants also told us what they want next: a voice in the conversation, and more perspectives in the tent and on the stage.
